This was some of the deepest snow I have ever come across.  We were in Revelstoke for three weeks and the snow never stopped.  When the weather called for sun it would snow 6 inches and when it called for 6 inches it snowed 18.  Eventually it got warm and the snow turned into five feet of mashed potatoes but it was fun while it lasted.

Human beings are made for seasonal living.

Per Hampus took this photo of me last spring in Norway. This is on top of a little island called Tomma. It took us 5 hours to hike to the summit. It was about 1 am in this photo, we hung out for a good while, soaking in this view and letting our jetlagged bodies regain composure. We found a chute on the far side of the island and rode it basically to the water. A couple thousand vertical feet in a couple minutes. When we arrived back at the boat, Austin had caught a fish and was frying it up for a little late night snack. That night we slept like babies.

This was a very special day for me, the first line I rode in AK.  Just to the right of the shadow line, far wall. Feb. 2012

The scale in Alaska is unmatched, it’s very difficult to tell what’s a 20 ft cliff and what’s a 200 ft cliff.
